The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revealed a significant increase in prize money for its domestic football leagues.
A total of GHS 2,006,000 will be distributed among the Ghana Premier League, Division One League, Women’s football, and other competitions.
The individual allocations to each competition has not been made clear during the confirmation of the increase.
The announcement was made during the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Pampram.
GFA President Kurt Okraku highlighted the association’s dedication to celebrating excellence and incentivizing clubs to achieve success.
While specific details of the prize distribution were not provided, more information is expected as the various competitions commence.
The Ghana Premier League is set to kick off on September 6, with the Division One League starting on September 27. The Women’s Premier League will begin on October 18.
This boost in prize money aims to enhance the competitive standard and overall quality of football in Ghana.
