The constituency 1st Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Dome- Kwabenya, Paul Opoku has disclosed that Ghana can never prosper under the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He made this known in a bid to advise all NPP members to ensure peace and unity prevail among themselves in order to retain power in 2024.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, he said that ”you can have the best of ideas but if you don’t have power it’s useless. If we are not able to project and propagate what the party has done, how then will we be able to win power? There’s one thing that is important in every endeavor of the party and that is loyalty- so just like Boakye Agyarko always says; the party first. So if someone has been suspended for wrongdoing and the person has regretted and is remorseful, we should bring them back just to unite the party”, he emphasized.
He went further to advise all Presidential Aspirants to also condemn their supporters publicly when they go contrary to the code of conduct of the party as he noted that it will go against their fortunes. ”Therefore the party should also come first because no matter what it is, Ghana will always prosper under the NPP. We know the country can never prosper under the NDC- for example look at what former President Kufuor was able to do for this country and how far he brought us as a nation but we went into recession when the NDC took over. How can a country be living in darkness for 5 solid years in the 21st century?”, he stressed.
He concluded by saying, the party members should accept whichever Presidential Candidate is elected by the delegates. ”We say we are a democratic party and therefore once delegates elect whom they want to represent the party as a flagbearer, we should all accept that and throw our weight behind such a person in order to break the eight”.
