The deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Rabi Salifu, has described the leadership style of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as one of a kind.
She said Ghana has never had any Vice President of his kind before.
“We have never had this kind of VEEP before. We had one who almost resigned and ended up writing up a book, fourth john. In his book he noted that he was drafting his resignation letter, when someone saw it and made it known to the leadership, and he was advised to rescind his decision. He further confined in his wife that there was no way he could continue with the vice-Presidential role as the pressure was too much for him- his wife was shedding tears, begging that his husband is allowed to resign”, she spoke on Movement in the morning show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV.
Adding that “It’s not a simple role and therefore if we have a vice President of this kind, if we have a noble man of this kind, a visionary leader, an able vice President supporting his own boss, all we need is to give them the required support. As for the turbulences, they are bound to happen, but how you overcome is what matters. It’s time to rejoice, it’s time to be proud of ourselves”, she told Kwaku Dawuro.
This comes after Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, revealed the government of Ghana’s plans to use gold reserves rather than dollar reserves to import refined oil products – which he noted that would lead to the exchange rate of the cedi to the U.S dollar being taken out of the equation when it comes to pricing fuel products in Ghana.
