Former Member of Parliament (MP) and former Agriculture Minister, George Oduro has noted that the Gold for oil policy has brought relief to Ghanaians, as fuel prices have begun dropping.
Speaking on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, Goerge Oduro explained that the NPP government realized that fuel price is a contributor to the economic hardship we are faced with as a country, and hence the reason for the introduction of the Gold for oil policy.
“The essence of the deal has begun reflecting at the fuel pumps. This speaks volume of the kind of government we have a country”, he told Kwaku Dawuro.
He was quick to add that although Ghanaians are partially to be blamed for the economic crisis, the main factors are COVID-19 and Russia-Ukraine war, which the NDC wouldn’t want Ghanaians to understand, but that’s the fact.
” l will plead with Ghanaians that if there’s any problem the country is faced with, one thing we ought to know is that there’s a government to solve those problems. The Gold for oil policy has helped reduced fuel prices and that is a plus for the government even though there’s more room for improvement”, he stressed.
He concluded that the President is trying his best to ensure that the economy gets back on track.
