Right after declaring his intent to buy Chelsea FC, majority of Ghanaians have come clamoring for Chairman Wontumi to take over the club.
The support has been massive to an extent that jerseys of the club which currently has Three as their sponsor has been replaced with mock up images of Wontumi.
The internet has been buzzing ever since Chairman Wontumi, a Ghanaian gold mine owner claimed that he is interested in becoming the new owner of Chelsea.
Bernard Antwi Boasiako has revealed his ambitious plans to buy the club and has already named three of the world’s biggest players he would like to sign and one he would look to sell.
Speaking on his own Wontumi TV and Wontumi radio, he stated that ‘I want to go and buy Chelsea Football Club. I am interested in it.”
Reports by Daily Mail has it that the government of UK has opened negotiations with Roman Abramovich’s advisers over the terms of the sale of Chelsea, which Downing Street is eager to push through as quickly as possible.
American bank The Raine Group has however paused the sale after Abramovich was sanctioned on Thursday, but there are numerous bidders willing to pay over £2billion for the club, if the Russian agrees to terms dictated by the government.
