Ghana’s Economy Is Not A Collapsed Economy- Patrick Awuku

Deputy National communications director, Dr Asiedu Kokro, says the current state of the economy is not in shambles, neither has it collapsed.

Dr Asiedu in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning on Wontumi radio/Movement TV, said with regards to the update of the state of the economy by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, emphatically stated that Ghana’s economy has not collapsed, backing his statement with some ongoing projects of the ruling government.

He however stated that the government is still paying Cost Of Living Allowance (COLA) and government workers.

He said that ”This Ghanaian economy is not a collapsed economy. This economy has spent Gh450 million over the last two months on Cost Of Living Allowance(COLA), to government workers which will end this December, so if someone tells you this economy has collapsed so withdraw your money from the bank, the economy has not collapsed.

We have not redrawn government allowances, neither have we canceled teachers and nurses training allowances. Government is still recruiting people and bringing programs on board to be able to move people. Gh10billion has been provided for young men and women to access through YouStart, so this economy is not a collapsed economy”
