Ghana’s Economy Is Still Strong Despite Global Crisis- Kwadwo Boateng

Former NPP Chairman for New Juaben North, Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang, has categorically stated that Ghana’s economy is still strong despite the global crisis.

According to him, although Ghana hasn’t been spared the effect of the global crisis, our case is different, as compared to what other countries are going to, which he attributed to the good leadership of President Akufo-Addo.

“Ghana has been spared the indicators that weaken the pillars of the economy and we are very fortunate. Because, for some countries like Sri Lankan, they are not even getting food to eat. Today, Malaysia go and see how they are suffering. The factories they had in making oil and others are non functional, as they cannot even export any longer. They cannot even meet the internal demand to talk more of exporting”, he spoke to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show.

Adding that ” Our strongest export commodity is Agric, but as we speak we cant say there’s food shortage in Ghana. Last week I was with the President on a tour around Atiwa, when I decided to buy roasted plantain and I was given just about two fingers for three cedi and the explanation the seller gave was that its because of the dollar. How does the depreciation of the cedi against the dollar affects plantain? So you see, its about the perception”.

“Its up to us to communicate well. The Akufo-Addo’s administration deserves plaudit for good management of the economy”, he concluded.
