The volta regional youth organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Korsi Bodja, has commended government for choosing to mark this year’s Independence Day at the Volta region.
According to him, by this decision of the government, the region has received some facelift.
“Volta region is grateful to the government for choosing the region for this year’s independence celebration. As a result of this decision, we’ve seen massive infrastructural development including construction of roads, fixing of streetlights, a youth resource centre which is a great achievement of the party in the region because we don’t have one,” he said.
“Government ought to be commended for such a great move and achievement,” he added.
The Volta Region has been selected to host this year’s National Independence Day celebration slated for March 6, 2023, at the 5,000-capacity Ho Youth Resource Centre (located at Adaklu Tsrefe), a government official has announced.
The announcement comes after the Director of Operations at the Office of the President, Lord Commey on January 20, 2023, led a delegation to notify the Volta Regional House of Chiefs (VRHS) about the upcoming national event.
Mr. Commey, Chairman of the National Independence Day Celebration Planning Committee, was accompanied by heads of various security agencies and officials from the Office of the President, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
