Head Of Local Government Debunks Claims of Clearing Off Staffs

Head of the Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, has debunked claims of clearing off staffs as reported by some media outlets.

Disproving the claim on Movement In The Morning Show with Kwaku Dawuro Dr. Ato Arthur said that ‘’We are not clearing off staff members. This is what happened- we told the regional councils to strategize in such as way that the communities and regions with  huge number of administrative officers to be deployed to other areas to ensure even distribution of human resources, because I realized the number of administrative staff members in some of the communities are lower and in other communities they are overly high. Unfortunately the media gave a negative reportage to the whole issue’’

”I am not the Minister Finance, I can’t scrub off workers. Looking at the staffing norms, we have the number of staffs who are supposed to be at every metro, so if the number of staffs are higher at a particular place, we transfer them to another spot where their services will be highly needed’’, he added.

”I am emphatically stating we are not clearing staffs-I don’t have the locus- I am not the Minister for Finance or the Minister for Employment and Labour”, Dr. Arthur stressed.

He added that if the sector gets physical clearance from the Ministry of Finance, they will open application for new entries.
