Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and captain, Benjamin Asare, has urged his teammates to build on their recent momentum following a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League.
The win marked the Phobians’ first of the season, coming after a difficult start that included two consecutive losses.
The victory, secured at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, featured second-half goals from Ransford Mensah and Hamza Issah, relieving some pressure off head coach Aboubakar Ouattara and the team.
As they prepare for their upcoming match against Nations FC in Kumasi, Asare emphasized the importance of maintaining a winning mentality.
“Put this in your mind, from today going, any game that we will play, our worst should be a draw,” Asare stated during the team’s post-match celebration. He highlighted the need for concentration and hard work moving forward.
Hearts of Oak finished the previous season without a trophy and narrowly avoided relegation, securing their place in the league with a critical victory over Bechem United on the final day.
The captain’s call for a winning mindset reflects the team’s determination to turn their fortunes around this season.
