Government’s spokesperson on social services, Alhaji Fofana has questioned the moral right of former President John Mahama, who claimed youth unemployment rate had shot up under Akufo-Addo led administration.
He asked what former President Mahama was able to do during his tenure as President.
“Look at how the youth were suffering during your administration as President…youth unemployment became a great menace the youth had to deal with…you were Vice President for three years and became President for four years, yet you couldn’t do anything for the Ghanaian youth and here you’re criticizing the President”, he lambasted.
He reminded the former President that it was during his administration that the unemployed graduates Association was created- describing that as something which had never happened in the history of Ghana.
Today, such groups no longer function because the government has been able to create more jobs for the teeming youth…Hence, there’s no need for such groups to exist…this is a government that cares about the people…despite the external shocks the country was faced with, the NPP government has been able to build more factories and employed over Hundred thousand graduates within four to five years”, he said.
