The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has once again sat on his bended knees to demonstrate how selfless and humble he is when serving his people .
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi was captured in a video appealing to the electorates at Kumawu to vote for the NPP during the impending by-election.
“This particular election, I come before you in humility and with respect, I plead with you as a Regional Chairman that you should vote for the NPP. You should give your vote to the NPP. Vote for Ernest Yaw Anim”.
Chairman Wontumi was recently captured in a video speaking to a gathering at the Kumawu Presbyterian church on his bended knees.
Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially assigned one of their members to openly mock Chairman Wontumi for visiting the Kumawu Presbyterian church.
Chairman Wontumi was captured on his knees seeking God’s guidance on the impending Kumawu by-election.
However Akoto Christopher, an assignee of the National Chairman for the NDC, John Asiedu Nketia, openly mocked Chairman Wontumi in a social media post for visiting the Kumawu Presbyterian Church.
The NDC man commented that:
‘Wo stronghold mpo nie’
‘Wontumi on knee begging’
Kumawu is considered a stronghold of the NPP and the party is expected to win the impending by-election.
Late Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Philip Basoah will be buried today, Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Philip Basoah died on Monday, March 27 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where he had been on admission for a serious ailment.
Just after the burial, the Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct the Kumawu by-election on May 23, 2023.
