Ghana international, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his excitement ahead of his first Premier League season after officially joining Leicester City.
The 20-year-old has committed to a five-year contract with the Foxes, transitioning from Portuguese side Sporting CP after a successful loan spell last season.
Issahaku’s £14 million transfer will allow Leicester fans to continue enjoying his talents.
The winger was instrumental in Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League, delivering impressive performances in the Championship.
Speaking to the club’s website after the announcement, Issahaku said, “I feel amazing. It’s so good to be back, and I’m just ready to focus on the next season. I feel so motivated to play in the Premier League. It’s a new challenge for me, and I’m going to give it my all with the team.
“I can’t wait to reunite with my teammates. I’ve missed them so much. They feel like family now. I didn’t realize how much I’d miss them until I was away. I can’t wait to see them again.”
Last season, under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, Issahaku scored seven goals and provided 13 assists.
He showed significant improvement as the season progressed, with his standout performance being a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Southampton.
Issahaku is set to join the squad immediately for pre-season training ahead of their Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, August 19.
