Raphael Sarfo Patrick, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, has broken his silence on accusation that he showed his vote to the public contrary to the rules and regulations gathering the elections.
It must be recalled that our Ashanti regional correspondent reported that there had been some misunderstanding at the KNUST center where the Ashanti Regional delegates were voting, the reason being that Raph, as he is affectionately called, had defied party orders and publicly shown his cast to the public.
This brought about confusion, as agents of the nine aspirants who perceive him as Bawumia boy protested vehemently that his vote should be rejected, bringing about a halt in the voting process.
Eventually, Raph’s vote was rejected, and the process continued.
Speaking with Kwaku Dawuro in a telephone interview on Movement in the Morning Show on Movement TV and Wontumi Radio in Accra, Raphael Sarfo Patrick denied any wrongdoing saying “I did not show who I voted for to the public and as such did not break any rule. I was only responding to cheers from party supporters by raising my hands, which the electoral officer there raised issue with it leading to the nine agents rushing in to muddy the waters”.
He expressed gratitude to journalists who filmed the process which has at last vindicated him.
