Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar, Information Minister has expressed her confidence in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s ability to secure a victory in the upcoming 2024 general election.
She made this statement on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio’s “Movement in the Morning” show, citing the numerous development projects initiated by President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia’s New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Some of the notable projects mentioned by Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar include the completion of Tamale International Airport, construction of roads in Tamale, and the Tamale interchange, which has become a landmark in the town
She also highlighted the progress made in rural development and export initiatives, such as teaching farmers how to package mushrooms and gari for export.
Additionally, Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar praised President Akufo-Addo’s efforts in combating illegal mining, noting that his administration has taken a stronger stance against galamsey than previous governments.
She explained that those engaged in illegal mining have been integrated into small-scale mining and community mining schemes, with the government providing financial support without harming water bodies.
Dr. Bawumia has also been touting his own achievements in the north, claiming that his influence as Vice President has brought more development to the region than former President Mahama’s presidency.
As the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia is confident that his vision for Ghana’s future will resonate with voters.
