I Hope Both Ghana And Sudan Qualify For 2025 AFCON – Kwesi Appiah

Kwesi Appiah hopes both Sudan and Ghana will qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The former Ghanaian international, now coaching Sudan’s national team, the Falcons, has led them to a mixed start in the AFCON qualifiers.

After two games, Sudan has a win and a loss against Niger and Angola, respectively, placing them 2nd in Group F with three points.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Black Stars, coached by Otto Addo, sit in 3rd place with just one point after a 1-0 loss to Angola and a 1-1 draw against Niger.

In the upcoming third and fourth matchdays of the qualifiers, Ghana and Sudan will face off in back-to-back fixtures.

Speaking ahead of the games, Appiah expressed his hopes for both teams to make it to the tournament

“I hope Ghana and Sudan qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament,” he told Asempa FM in an exclusive interview.

“We just have to pray and hope that we all achieve our aim,” he added.

The Black Stars will host Sudan in the first leg at Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, at 16:00 GMT.

The return leg will take place on Monday, October 14, at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
