The National Youth Organizer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has disclosed that he had to resign from his post as a Presidential staffer after he became a youth organizer.
According to him, initially when he had calls for his resignation after winning the elections, he wasn’t buying into the idea because he saw no conflict between his job at the office of the Vice President, and his call to the party as the National Youth organizer. However, later he got to realize that there was the need for him to resign.
“I lead the youth of the party and as its often said, leadership by example. I cannot be working when most of the youth I lead are unemployed. Hence, quickly I had to tender in my resignation. I need to feel the pains they go through. I wrote to the Chief of staff and my resignation was accepted”, he said on Movement TV.Â
“I have no problem dropping my occupation at the Presidential to pursue a full-time job for the party. We all need to sacrifice at a point in time once it inures to the benefit of the masses I lead. They ought to know that we are in this together…”, he told Kwaku Dawuro the host.Â
He further urged the youth of the party never to let their guards down. Admonishing them to desist from things that bring division among themselves.
“We need to live in peace and unity. There are a lot of things that the government is doing and need to come together and ensure that we are able to propagate the good works of the party”, Salam emphasized.Â
He told youth of the party to be proud that they are affiliated to NPP. Although their expectation may have not been met, they shouldn’t let their guards down.
