“I Will Be Exonerated From All Allegations”- Cecilia Dapaah Resigns As Sanitation Minister

The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resource, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has tendered her resignation letter to the President.

This comes after it had emerged that two house helps of hers, had stolen funds of $1M, 300K EUROs, millions of cedis among others from her bedroom. This had sparked public uproar in the last 24 hours, with Ghanaians asking where she got such huge sums of money from.

In a letter of resignation signed by the Minister, she emphatically stated that those figures do not represent correctly, what her husband and she reported to the Police.

She’s therefore resigning because she does not want this matter to become a preoccupation of government and a hindrance to the work of government at such a crucial time.

“I intend to cooperate fully with all state agencies to enable them fully establish the facts”, she indicated.

Adding that she has no doubt whatsoever that at the end of the processes, it will be fully established that she has conducted herself with integrity during her period in public service and she will be fully exonerated from all the allegations that have filled the public domain in the past 24 hours.

“I thank you my dear, Mr. President, for the honour done me in giving me the opportunity to serve our beautiful nation Ghana”, she concluded.
