In a bold move, the NPP Ashanti regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, better known as Chairman Wontumi has declared intentions to offer his five TV/ Radio stations for free, to live broadcast the Presidential Debate between Dr. Bawumia and John Mahama.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, the outspoken chairman challenged Mahama to come out of hiding and face his opponents in a live televised debate.
“Why is he running away from the debate?” Wontumi asked, his voice laced with frustration.
“Even if he resigns as the flagbearer of the NDC, we will still force him to debate us. Once he accepts the challenge, I’m ready to offer my five TV stations and radio stations to broadcast the debate live, for free.”
Wontumi emphasized that the debate is not just about Mahama and Vice President Bawumia, but also about their running mates, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang and NAPO. As former Education Ministers, they must account for their tenure and share their visions for Ghana’s education sector.
“The debate is an opportunity for Ghanaians to hold their leaders accountable and make informed decisions,” Wontumi said. “Mahama can’t hide forever. We will ensure that he faces the people and answers tough questions.”
With the election season heating up, Wontumi’s challenge has set the stage for a thrilling showdown. Will Mahama accept the challenge, or will he continue to dodge the debate? One thing is certain – Chairman Wontumi will stop at nothing to ensure that the voice of the people is heard.
