Parliamentary candidate hopeful for Wassa Amenfi East, Dr. Isaac Afriyie has said that the NPP will recapture the seat from the NDC in the 2024 elections.
According to him, even if he doesn’t become the Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NPP in the constituency, he’s ever ready to support whoever emerges winners, to ensure that the seat is recaptured.
He noted that to develop Wassa Amenfi East will be his utmost priority if elected as Member of Parliament. Although he has already begun some developmental projects for the constituents when he’s not a MP yet.
“If I’m elected as a Member of Parliament, I will lobby for development for my constituents with my capabilities even if my government is in power or not. Because, I have already started doing that. So, just imagine what I can do if I’m given the opportunity to serve. I will do more than someone is currently doing”, he told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio.
“Come what may, we will recapture our seat. In any unlikely event that I do not win as Parliamentary candidate, whoever becomes the candidate on the ticket of the NPP will have my support. Because it’s not about my personal interest, it’s about the party’s interest”, he explained.
He disclosed that if he wins, he will ensure that he draws the rest of his contenders closer to him- and if it doesn’t go in his favour too, he will market and campaign for whoever becomes the candidate.
“There are people who become agitated and incite their followers against the party when they lose any internal elections. They never campaign for the party anymore. But I would do that.
He furthered disclosed that in during the 2020 elections, when he wasn’t even a candidate for the party, he supported the party in Wassa Amenfi East with two of his cars.
