‘I Will Use Public Transport Until The Economy Gets Better’- MP For New Juaben South

The Member of Parliament(MP) for New Juaben South, Hon Micheal Okyere Baafi, has stated he will use public transport for his official duties until the economy gets better.

According to the MP who is also the deputy Minister for Trade, the whole world is in crises, and President Akufo-Addo is working assiduously to get the economy back on track.

Speaking with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show,  Hon. Okyere Baafi said that ‘’the current global hardship has pressured a UK prime minister to resign after 45 days in office, is no joke. Every government official in Ghana has sacrificed to help revive the economy. I came to your studio this morning with an uber, and I will park my car and use taxi and public transport until the economy gets better”.

Asserting government officials are also feeling the economic heat, Hon Baafi  stated that ”government officials are sacrificing a lot- as an MP the only money I receive is my monthly salary and 300 cedis weekly fuel without any allowance”.

He concluded that the country is in difficulty times but strongly believes this too will pass.
