If Sacrificing Ken Ofori Atta Will Restore Hope: President Akufo-Addo Will Do It- Nana Kay

A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah popularly known as Nana Kay has said President Akufo-Addo has the interest of the country at heart, adding he wouldn’t think twice sacrificing Ken Ofori Atta to bring back the lost hope.

He said this when he joined Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Thursday 27th October, 2022.

”I won’t approve the MP’s for what they did neither will I condemn them. Ghanaians gave the party a 4 year mandate to take charge of the economy, sometimes we need to go to the people and ask if they are happy with what we are doing. If we do this assessment, it will help us to amend our system. 80 MPs initially signed the petition to remove the finance Minister, and the majority leader later said the number had increased to 95. If I tell you that I am not afraid of what will happen next then I will be a liar.  The MP’s stated they sent a letter to the National Executives and they didn’t receive any response. The current statement from the National Executives says they are in control and I am happy about that. The President has also come out to speak”, he said.

”The MP for Asante Akim North Constituency, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi who led the press conference said they were not speaking for themselves but out of the Pressure from their constituencies and that is what pushed them, and for them to protect their seat they needed to do it. No NPP MP should sideline any of the MPs that were involved in the sabotage. A lot of people have raised several concerns-we should try our best to calm  down”, he stated.

”If sacrificing Ken Ofori will bring peace, it won’t be difficult for the President to take him off. But will it bring the solution we want? Regardless I believe the calling for change will bring confidence. If Ken Ofori Atta does not quality to be sacked,  we can sacrifice him for the sake of peace or reshuffle him to another sector”, Nana Kay added.

He concluded that this move is not for the interest of the party but the interest of Ghanaians.
