The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for GA West, Honourable Clement Wilkinson, has said education continues to stand out as one of the few most sensitive sectors of his administration for the municipality.
He said, to this end, the sector was attracting the needed focus for the betterment of the people.
He said education remains an indispensable tool for national development and the Assembly would continue to place much premium on quality teaching and learning for all as captured in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision.
The MCE made this known during the commissioning of some projects in selected schools within his municipality.
He first commissioned a two-classroom block, 4-seater toilet facility, a kitchen and stall room for students and teachers of Manhean Basic School and furthered to the Afuaman M.A. Basic school where he commissioned a three- classroom block and a teacher’s conference. This was funded from the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund.
Speaking to Movement News, honourable Wilkinson noted that “this falls in line with the vision of President Akufo-Addo to ensure that no child is left behind as far as education is concerned- as he believes it’s a great tool for national development. Thus, the reason I’m so committed to ensure the realization of the President’s dream in my municipal.”
Students of Afuaman M.A. Basic school couldn’t hide their joy as the express their profound gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive and the Assembly for the project because they study in an old uncompleted structure which couldn’t even accommodate them. Hence, the newly commissioned blocks will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning in the school.
