Former Central Regional Chairman for the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has praised Dr. Kwabena Duffuor for pulling out from the party’s presidential primary noting that the entire process has been fraught with irregularities.
In an interview with Gordon Asare-Bediako on Movement TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, Mr. Allotey Jacobs the register being used by the NDC to elect their flagbearer has serious issues which won’t make the process fair to any contestant participating in it except Mr. John Mahama.
Speaking on the album being used, the former NDC Chairman stated that “they want Joseph to become Mary and Mary, Joseph. How does Mary grow beard and Joseph wear kaba?”
He praised Dr. Duffuor for coming up with his ‘ahotor’ project describing as a project that has been well accepted within the NDC.
In his view Dr. Duffuor “would have made an impact in the elections. The dark horses realized that if 30% goes for Duffuor it will rock Mahama so they have skewed the process.”
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor on Tuesday filed a case at the Accra high court having cited anomalies with the NDC electoral album for his suit.
The lawsuit specifically named as respondents the General Secretary of the NDC, the Director of the Elections Directorate, along with fellow flagbearer hopefuls John Dramani Mahama and another contender, Kojo Bonsu.
The Electoral Commission (EC), through its chairperson served notice to stay out from supervising the National Democratic Congress’ Presidential and Parliamentary primaries until all internal issues are resolved amicably.
