Inactive Leaders and Appointees to Blame For NPP’s Defeat – Felix Appiah

Aide to Samira Bawumia, Felix Appiah, has attributed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections to the inactivity of party leaders and appointees.

Speaking on Movement TV/Wontumi Radio’s morning show, Felix emphasized that the party leaders failed to engage effectively with NPP voters, creating a perception of arrogance among the electorate.

According to Felix, some party leaders did not make themselves accessible to voters, and when they did, they failed to follow up. He noted that some leaders would give out their phone numbers but fail to respond to calls, further widening the gap between the party and its supporters.

Felix urged party leaders to address this apathy and work towards regaining the trust of their constituents. He emphasized that it is crucial for leaders to be proactive and responsive to the needs of their supporters.

Moreover, Felix stressed that the party’s committees need to be more active in supporting the party. He called on the committees to be more vibrant and to work closely with the party leadership to address the challenges facing the party.

Felix also defended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that he should not be blamed for the party’s defeat. He argued that Dr. Bawumia did his best to campaign for the party, and that the defeat was a collective responsibility.
