A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ishmael Adams, says it’s only a fool who does not change his mind.
Mr. Adams stated emphatically when he joined Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show to discuss the issues surrounding Ghana’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout.
‘’Ghana will go to the IMF and we are not shy about this. I am sorry to say this but it is only fool who refuses to change his mind. When we said we won’t go to IMF for financial support, there was nothing like COVID-19 and Russian Ukraine war so we could survive with our homegrown measures. IMF is even calling countries to come for support because they know how difficult the economy has become’’, he said.
he further added, “the difference between NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) going to IMF is that there is an external shock and that has contributed to the decision for the bailout”.
He indicated that NPP before COVID-19 implemented major policies that aided in improving the socio-economic status of the ordinary Ghanaian.
“During the pandemic President Akufo-Addo gave free food, water, electricity and financial support to the citizenry”, he sated.
