A communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ellen Ama Darku has questioned why the NDC will wang to present James Gyakye Quayson as their Parliamentary candidate in Assin North for the by-election, when he’s still standing trail in court.
She asked, “is there NDC trying to tell us that apart from grandpa Gyakye Quayson, they’ve got no other person to represent them in the upcoming by-elections”.
She said as a member of the NPP, she shouldn’t have been bordered about what is happening in the NDC. But she has families in the NDC who have worked hard in the constituency and could have taken up such position, but Gyakye Quayson isn’t giving that opportunity when he’s also not best fit for the position as he’s standing trial in court.
“If not for wickedness why should a 71-year-old man like Gyakye Quayson, regardless of the challenges he’s faced with now, will still want to become a Member of Parliament, when in actual sense he could have withdrawn from the contest for a young and vibrant person to take over”, she fumed.
She further expressed shock over how young folks who should have become the Parliamentary candidate are rather busily campaigning for Gyakye Quayson to become the MP.
