News Editor for ABC NEWS, Gordon Asare Bediako, has emphatically stated that it’s a political suicide for Alan Kojo Kyeremanten to partner Ivor Greenstreet for the 2024 elections.
This comes against the background of rumors that Alan Kyeremanten is in talks with the two-time CPP flagbearer for a possible alliance.
According to the ace-broadcaster, it’s a political suicide that Alan Kyeremanten can never recover from.
“If Alan Kyeremanten decides to join the CPP, there’s no way they will allow him to become flagbearer over Ivor Greenstreet and thus, Alan will have no other option than to become a running mate to Ivor Greenstreet…however, it’s been suggested several times, that he partners Dr. Bawumia as running mate and he has rejected…Is it not better to become a running mate to Dr. Bawumia than to Ivor Greenstreet? or is it because he hates Bawumia?”, he asked.
He notes that there’s no way the CPP will come to power in the next 60 years, and therefore, such a move if true, is a bad decision.
“Alan has no support base and the super delegate conference has proven that Alan has no support base anywhere in Ghana…even if Mahama chooses Alan as his running mate, it wouldn’t end up anywhere…if he goes independent, form his own party or partners someone else, it wouldn’t end up anywhere…he’s finished…the only thing for him to feel comfortable is to support NPP”, he explained.
Gordon went further to note that Alan Kyeremanten has been over-pampered in the party. The then candidate Akufo-Addo declared Alan Kyeremanten as his trades minister even before the election was won, not because of his competence but just for peace to prevail.
