The Sudanese Football Association has appointed former Ghana coach James Akwasi Appiah as coach of the senior national men’s football team, Joy Sports understands.
Appiah, 63, will lead the 1970 African champions for the next three years.
The former Black Stars captain and coach has a big reputation in Sudan, where his reputation for spotting new talents that have become some of the core of the country’s national team.
Before this appointment, Appiah had most recently been in charge of putting together an Interim Management Committee for Asante Kotoko. His last major coaching was as Ghana national team coach, where he had a second stint between 2017 and 2020.
In the last three years, Appiah has been attached with Kenpong Football Academy in sporting director role.
