Ken Ofori Atta Fed ‘Hungry’ NDC Footsoldiers- CVM President Tells John Mahama

After feeding and giving “hungry” National Democratic Congress (NDC) free food and water, Razak Kojo Opoku has hit back at former President John Mahama for calling for Mr. Ken Ofori Atta to be sacked.

The founder and President of Concern Voters Movement stated that he doesn’t understand the call by the former President since it has no basis.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to relieve the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta of his post.

According to him, the president must take such action because Mr. Ofori-Atta, who has been serving in the role since 2017, has not lived up to expectations in the management of Ghana’s economy.

But responding to the statement on Wontumi TV, Mr. Opoku noted that “if going to the IMF is about sacking people, then you (Mahama) should have resigned immediately you took Ghana there.”

He questioned Mr. Mahama if he “sacked” himself first for seeking bailout at the IMF noting that during the peak of COVID 19, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta ensured the former President’s household benefitted from free water, food and electricity.

Razak Kojo Opoku therefore considered it wrong for Mr. Mahama to call on President Akufo-Addo to sack his finance minister. He explained that as President, he didn’t sack his finance minister Mr. Seth Terpker for taking Ghana to IMF.

“You stayed in power with Seth Terkper and so what is the basis for your call on President Akufo-Addo to sack Ken Ofori Atta?” he asked.
