A communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freda Agyemang has told Ghanaians to be patient with the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta as he will revive the economy and prove his critics wrong.
Her comment comes after the call for the removal of the Finance Minister has become loud due to the current economic mishap.
Speaking with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show she said that ‘’when leaders are choosing who to work with, they focus on who shares in their vision and those they are comfortable with. The President has not reshuffled the Finance Minister because of the confidence he has in him. I am not saying wisdom is found in one person, we can look at bringing in new minds . We were here in Ghana when the former Finance Minister, Osafo Marfo took Ghana to HIPC and he boldly stated he will take Ghana out, and he did”.
”I don’t grudge those who are calling for the reshuffling of the Finance Minister, according to them things are not going well but it all boils down to the person who is working with him and that is the President . He knows things are difficult, but he believes the Finance Minister is capable of bringing the economy back on track. When the President said this one too shall pass, he knew the person he has entrusted the country’s finance will revive the economy.
She added that the call for reshuffling is a good call but he admonished Ghanaians to have patient in the Akufo-Addo led government.
