King Faisal owner Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah has survived a serious car accident on the Kumasi Kintampo road.
Grusah, who is also a member of the Black Stars management committee, was travelling back from a Ghana Premier League match against Tamale City on Saturday with the club’s Operations Manager Nana Amankwah when the accident occurred.
King Faisal had suffered a heavy defeat, losing 4-0 to Tamale City, leaving them in the bottom three with just four matches remaining in the season.
Grusah, who had planned to sleep over in Tamale due to a funeral, became worried after the loss and decided to travel back to Kumasi with the team.
However, their journey was interrupted by the accident, which Grusah attributes to divine intervention.
“We were saved by Allah,” he said, as quoted by FootballmadeinGhana. “While going to play the game, I had prepared to sleep over because I would also attend a funeral over there. But after the 4-0 defeat, I got worried and asked the boys we should move back to Kumasi. On the way we were greeted with this accident.”
Grusah and the others involved in the accident were treated at the Techiman Hospital and later discharged. They are currently recovering at home and plan to return to the hospital for further check-ups.
