The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of New Juaben South Hon. Isaac Appau Gyasi, has indicated that plans are far advanced to ensure that Koforidua becomes like California state.
This comes after he had promised to ensure that many developmental projects are brought to the municipality when he was confirmed as the MCE of the district in 2018.
In an exclusive interview on Movement In The Morning Political Show, Mr. Gyasi who is popularly known as ‘Adwumawura’ told Kwaku Dawuro that, “of course there are challenges, but it will amaze you with the kind of projects we have executed since 2018. I have liaised with my MP, both former and incumbent to improve the developmental projects of Koforidua”.
He mentioned the construction of kindergarten block for Nsukwao M/A School, maternity wing and CHPS compound at Adweso, 20-unit lockable stores at Koforidua Zongo market, 10-seater toilet facility and borehole at Islamic School at Zongo, Apimpoa, six-unit classroom block for Oti Boateng Senior High School, concrete footbridge in the municipality, among others.
He added that the phase one of the redevelopment of the Jackson Park which is in two phases is far advanced.
He said the commitment of the government to ensure infrastructural development was evident in the huge amounts of money put into project.
He added that the government was determined to deliver efficient and effective governance in order to achieve the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.
“This is evident through the policies and programmes rolled out by the government”, he said, adding that, “the assembly throughout the years has committed a lot of resources to improve the lives of the people and will continue to do so. Koforidua is on the path of progress”.
