Inmates at the Koforidua Prisons are appealing for food donations during the Christmas season, citing inadequate feeding provisions of GHC1.80 per day.
Speaking to Adom News, the Public Relations Officer of the Koforidua Prisons, DSP Ezekiel Kolletey, relayed the inmates’ plea.
He highlighted the insufficiency of their daily feeding allowance and called on Ghanaians to support them, particularly during the festive season.
This appeal came after the Church of Pentecost – Nkawkaw Adoagyiri District Women’s Ministry, in collaboration with OAT Bakery, visited the prison to donate food, drinks, tissues, and other essential items.
During the presentation, District Pastor Mordecai Wereko encouraged the inmates to remain hopeful, emphasizing that imprisonment does not mark the end of their lives.
He urged them to embrace faith in Jesus Christ, assuring them of a brighter future beyond their current situation.
