Kumawu, Effiduase Pour Out In Their Numbers For Bawumia As Ashanti Momentum Continues

The strong Bawumia wave blowing through the Ashanti Region continued on Sunday with another mammoth gathering for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

For over 10 days, a seemingly unstoppable wave of support has swept through the Ashanti Region for the Vice President, who is on his final constituency-based regional tour.

The trend continued on Sunday when Dr. Bawumia toured Sekyere Afram Plains, Kumawu, and Asokore Effiduase Constituencies.

At Drobonso, in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency, which is one of the smallest constituencies in the region in terms of numbers and one of the few controlled by the NDC, Bawumia recorded huge numbers, which many said was arguably the biggest reception the community had given a candidate of the NPP.

In Kumawu, a fortress of the NPP, where Dr. Bawumia visited next, the numbers were over the roof. What was remarkable was the enthusiasm displayed by the supporters, both young and old.

Clad in NPP and Bawumia t-shirts, they sang and danced, pledging their support to Vice President Bawumia.

The situation was even more charged in Effiduase, where Dr. Bawumia held his final event of the day, a community connect, after meeting with chiefs, the clergy, imams, and other stakeholders of the Effiduase Asokore Constituency in Asokore.

While Dr. Bawumia was having the stakeholders’ engagement in Asokore, thousands of charged supporters were waiting for his arrival in Effiduase.

The majority of the mammoth crowd arrived hours before the scheduled time of arrival, and as their commitment level was stretched with the arrival time going beyond the planned, they were unperturbed.

All that mattered was demonstrating their loyalty through dancing and chanting the names of Bawumia and their MP, Dr. Ayew Afriye.

When Bawumia arrived in the evening, the crowd was even more charged as they gave him a rousing welcome and cheered him on throughout his address.

The MP for the area, Nana Ayew Afriye, and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), were among those who addressed the crowd.
