Kwesi Appiah has officially confirmed his return to the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the completion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Appiah, who serves as the Head of Sporting Affairs at Asante Kotoko, stepped down temporarily from the position ahead of the qualifiers against Sudan and Ghana.
This move was in compliance with a directive from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Appiah explained that, “I temporarily left my role due to the games until November.
“I have been restored to the ExCO but since then, there has been no meeting at the moment,” he added.
With his extensive experience, Appiah is expected to make valuable contributions to the advancement of football in Ghana.
In addition, he is set to lead the Falcons of Jediane to the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco next year.
