Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has noted that the Gold for Oil program has contributed to stabilizing petrol prices at the pump.
Highlighted the government’s achievements in various sectors, during the launch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto, Minister Jinapor noted that plans to establish a Mineral Development Bank, will create jobs for Ghanaians and support large- and small-scale mining operations, generating employment opportunities for the youth.
In the forestry sector, Minister Jinapor emphasized Ghana’s emergence as a global leader in forest management and nature-based climate action. He cited the Green Ghana initiative, which has resulted in the planting of 52 million trees in just four years, and the cultivation of 720,000 hectares of forest between 2017 and 2023.
Furthermore, Minister Jinapor mentioned the government’s efforts to digitize the records of the Lands Commission, ensuring efficient and effective land service delivery.
