The Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for GA West, Honourable Clement Wilkinson, is of the view that the leadership of NPP should still engage Alan Kyeremanten, to rescind his decision from contesting the 2024 elections, as independent Presidential candidate.
According to him, since Alan Kyeremanten has also got some fan base and supporters, it will be injurious to the party to lose votes from these supporters and Alan Kyeremanten himself.
“This is the second time this is happening and it’s an indication that Alan Kyeremanten is so lenient…Personally, I think the leadership of the party should still try and engage him…because we need the numbers to win the 2024 elections…we can only emerge victorious in the 2024 elections, only if we get 50+1 votes. Alan Kyeremanten has got followers, and thus we need to pull everyone along going into the general election”, he said on Movement In The Morning show on Movement TV.
“Since he wasn’t expelled from the party but resigned. Then when he returns the party will definitely accept him back. He shouldn’t wait till it’s too late”, he added.
He went further to say that it’s good that Alan Kyerematen has poured his heart out. Shared his grievances.
Adding that he should be able to control his emotions. Because there are a lot of people who will step on others toes and if you don’t exercise restraint, you may overreact.
“I should have been one of those to have resigned from the party…but regardless of what I go through, I think it rather strengthened me…Alan would have been one of the people the party would have revered so high if we come into power in 2024. However, he’s lost his chances”, he concluded.
