The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem Central, Honorable Anyimadu Antwi, has urged his colleague MP not to play politics with issues related to the IMF.
According to him, the three bills before the august house will determine the fate of the country and therefore there was the need for both sides of the houses to cooperate and ensure those bills are passed- in order to secure the bailout from the IMF.
He made this known during a discussion segment on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio monitored by movementtvonline.
” I will urge our friend on the other side that we should unanimously vote in favour the bill. This is not the time to be talking about party issues. What is needed now is that we all come together and build up this consensus with them. It’s very crucial that we do so, in order to get the support from the IMF, to scale through the economic crisis”, he said.
He furthered that the consensus building in Parliament lies greatly on the leadership of the caucuses and as such, he urged the leadership on the side of the Majority to extend their hands to the other side in order to build a fruitful consensus.
“I will urge the leadership of our party in parliament to work towards building a consensus- especially when it is related to the IMF and negotiations that the government has done” , he stressed.
