Mahama Is Always Attacking President Akufo-Addo Just To Stay Relevant- Ernest Frimpong

A communications team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Frimpong, has said that former President Mahama is always attacking President Akufo-Addo just to stay relevant.

He told Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV that former President Mahama and the NDC are always trying to paint a picture to Ghanaians that the influential people in the NPP who have been supporting the party with their resources are doing so with the finances of the party, which isn’t the case- hence the reason he’s turned his attention to Akonta Mining.

“A record which cannot be changed is that from 1992 till date, there haven’t been a single NPP person standing trial in court who had been charged of corruption. However, you can count a number of NDC members, who have been jailed, fined to the extent that some of them had their houses sold to pay their fines. It’s against this background that they’re doing everything for Ghanaians to see the NPP as corrupt”, he said.

Adding that “because he wants to remain relevant and come back in the scene, he will continue to attack the president so that when Nana Addo becomes unpopular it becomes a gain for the NDC. But let me tell you one thing, if you’re a politician and you want to remain relevant because of someone’s downfall or shortcoming, it doesn’t always work for you because what happens if the person does exactly what Ghanaians want, when you were expected the person to do otherwise”.

He furthered that John Mahama and the NDC as a whole should have an alternative- questioning what’s their plan B and what they have promised to do when they come into power after eight years in opposition.

“They’ve not been able to point out to even one thing that they will do when elected. In any case, what’s Mahama coming to do? He should put his ambitions and plans to win the heart of Ghanaians and if they will vote for you, they will”, he concluded.
