Mahama Suppressed Haruna Iddrisu Due To Fear Of Competition- Kwabena Marfo

Member of communication for the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Marfo Gyasi, has disclosed that former President and Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama had to suppress Haruna Iddrisu to avoid a fearful competition.

Speaking in an interview with Kwaku Dawuro, on Movement In The Morning, on Movement TV/Wontumi, Kwabena Marfo stated that John Mahama, in order to prevent a tough fight and competition from former minority leader in parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, he had to kick him out of office.

He noted that ”Now if Ghanaians don’t know, what we are saying is that it is a power struggle within the NDC,. Now what John Dramani Mahama hammered on most, among his policies was that age was catching up His excellency Akuffo Addo, and for that matter will not be capable of achieving anything.

Now as the years go by, age is also catching up with him and for whatever reason, whether we like it or not 2024 he is their flagbearer, and as we speak he is hailed as the presumptive flagbearer. We pray for God to see us through the election so that Ghanaians will understands us better and see developmental projects. ”

He continued to plead with Ghanaians to be convinced by government’s social interventions, and vote for the NPP to continue ruling in order to prevent John Mahama from coming into power.

Furthermore ” If Ghanaians can look at the social interventions the President has brought and vote for us to continue, there is no way Mahama can be President and when the time is up for election and he wants to contest again, individuals like Haruna Iddrisu can raise a serious competition for John Dramani Mahama. So what he had to do was to suppress him by getting him out of office as soon as possible which is bad.”
