Mahama’s Revocation of Appointments Is A ‘Create, Loot, and Share’ Scheme- Agyemang

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Agyemang, has strongly condemned the recent revocation of appointments by the Mahama-led administration.

According to Mr. Agyemang, the rationale behind these revocations is not only unjust but also sinister.

Mr. Agyemang questioned the timing and motivation behind the revocations, pointing out that Nana Addo’s term was supposed to end on January 7, 2025. He argued that the government’s decision to revoke appointments made by the previous administration is a clear indication of the lack of transparency and accountability in the current government.

Mr. Agyemang also highlighted the irony of the situation, given that the Mahama-led administration campaigned heavily on job creation. He asked, “Why would a government that promised to create jobs decide to revoke appointments of people who are already employed?” He emphasized that these individuals are Ghanaians who deserve to work and contribute to the country’s development.

Mr. Agyemang further alleged that the revocations are a ploy by the government to create an opportunity for corruption. He claimed that the government intends to withdraw the salaries of the revoked appointees for the period of January to March, even if they are called back in April. This, he argued, would result in the government stealing salaries meant for these individuals.

Mr. Agyemang also expressed concerns that the revocations are a precursor to nepotism and favoritism. He predicted that the government would replace the revoked appointees with individuals affiliated with the ruling party, rather than basing appointments on merit.
