Many Would Have Died By Now If Mahama Was The President- Amasaman MP

The Member of Parliament for Amasaman, Hon. Akwasi Afrifa Mensah, has said that God knew there would be global crisis after the 2020 elections, hence the reason why Akufo-Addo won the elections.

According to him, many would have died if Mahama was the President with the outbreak of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war because there was no way he could have managed it better like President Akufo-Addo has done.

”God Knew that there would be an outbreak of COVID-19 hence the reason why Akufo-Addo was elected as President- because many would have died if Mahama was elected. God knew what would have happened. It was same during the era of President Kufuor, he inherited a very poor economy but ensured that at the end of his tenure, Ghana was a middle income country. All the achievements of late Prof. Mills were based on the foundation of Former President Kufuor”, he explained.

He went further to say that ”in 2012 there was no COVID-19, no Ukraine Russia war it was just Ebola yet many graduates were still unemployed, with a backlog of nurses who were not employed and the allowances of teacher and nursing trainees were canceled. We slept in ‘dumsor’ for four (4) years. But when God brought Akufo-Addo, he solved all the problems- for nine (9) months to a year, teachers were home due to COVID-19 but were earning salary. Students were fed with hot meal without paying a pesewa. Utility bill were absorbed by Government with constant electricity supply”.

Stressing that ”had it not been for the depreciation of the cedi, one wouldn’t have noticed that Ghana was also feeling the brunt of the global crisis”.
