A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, Awal Mohammed has revealed that Private Legal Practitioner, Martin Kpebu has parliamentary ambitions in the Oti region on the ticket of the NDC, hence the reason he’s been criticizing the government in recent times.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement in the morning show on Movement TV/ Wontumi Radio, he said that “that’s why he’s making a lot of noise here in Accra for people to notice him- but he should know that Insulting the President, throwing tantrums against the President is not the best. I’m sure he’s observed things himself and should try organizing the demonstration again and see if people will join him”.
Awal added that he believes there are some legitimate concerns which were raised by the demonstrators, and he believes that its prudent that government pays attention to them. “It’s not about the turnout though. But we plead with him to be very concern about the kind of utterance he makes”, he stressed.
This comes after scores of Ghanaians last Saturday embarked on a peaceful demonstration to protest the high cost of living, and called on the President, his Vice and the minister of finance to resign. Dubbed: “Kume Preko Reloaded”, the demonstration was convened by the outspoken private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu.
