The Bono East Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), David Boakye, lost it cool while reacting to bribery allegations levelled against him.
In a banter clash with an aspiring General Secretary of the NPP, Frederick Opare-Ansah, who alleged that David Boakye had requested for a huge sum of Twenty thousand Ghana cedis(20,000) before helping him mobilize delegates within his region for a campaign while speaking on Movement In The Morning Show on Wontumi radio/Movement TV, the Bono East regional Secretary who couldn’t calm his horses invoked curses to prove his innocence ” If indeed I had requested for such an amount from Frederick Opare-Ansah, then I should never return home safely”.
“As an SRC President in UCC I never did anything like this. I challenge Opare Ansah to show a recording of my calls or text with either him or any of his team members when I requested for 20,000 Ghana cedis. I challenge him to prove that to me- Is this someone who wants to lead the party as a General Secretary; It’s untrue, I have never demanded any money from him”, he added.
This comes after David Boakye had stated earlier on the same platform that among the candidates contesting for the General Secretary position of the NPP, Frederick Opare-Ansah is a lazy aspirant and this may go against him; this didn’t go down well with him, hence in reaction he indicated that David Boakye only said that because he (Frederick Opare-Ansah) had declined paying him 20,000 Ghana cedi to campaign in the Bono East region.
