The Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North Constituency, Hon. Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, has stated they still hold by their words but has given honor to the President’s wish to meet their demands after IMF negotiations are done.
On Tuesday 25th October, 2022 80 MPs which was led by the Asante Akim North Constituency MP held a press conference to impress on the President to sack the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta else they will not support government business.
In a close meeting with the President, he pleaded with the MP’s to allow the finance minister concludes IMF negotiations. This according to many the MP’s have withdraw their call.
Debunking the claim on Movement In the Morning Show with Kwaku Dawuro, Hon. Appiah Kubi said that ‘’we have not disappointed anyone, the President has requested we give him some time for the finance minister to conclude IMF negotiations which will be completed soon to allow input into the budget before 15th November, when that is over the President will either dismiss him or he will step down’’.
He emphatically stated that they still stand by their words.
