The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Raphael Sarfo Patrick, has stated that the number of Parliamentarians endorsing the candidature of vice President Bawumia, shows that he is the best candidate to win the NPP power in 2024.
Speaking on a Kumasi based radio station which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the NPP stalwarts stated that “currently we have 137 MPs in Parliament, out the 137 over 125 of them have declared publicly for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.”
He narrowed the support the vice President is enjoying from parliamentarians from Ashanti region and explained that out of 43 Members of Parliament (MPs), 41, have declared for him.
Raphael Sarfo Patrick also maintained that no one can bribe the MPs to endorse Dr. Bawumia.
“In Ashanti region, we have 43 MPs and out the number, 41 say they are for Dr. Bawumia. So it tells you that they haven’t gone for money or bribe from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia but they all see that the best person to lead our party and ensure the NPP breaks the 8 and cross 8 year rule and consolidate political power to ensure that we implement our policies and programs is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia”, he said.
