My Attorney Didn’t Show Up In Court Because Empress Gifty’s Lawyer Served Him Late’ – Agradaa

The General Overseer of Heaven Way Chapel, Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Agradaa, has once again sparked reactions on social media amid her ongoing legal battle with Empress Gifty.

It would be recalled that Empress Gifty and Agradaa appeared before the Tema High Court on June 11, 2025, for trial.

After the proceedings, Empress Gifty’s lawyer alleged in an earlier video that Agradaa’s counsel failed to appear in court.

“Today, we wanted the court to move a motion on the interlocutory injunction to restrain the defendant from making statements that could affect the plaintiff [Empress Gifty]. Unfortunately, the defendant’s lawyer didn’t show up.

“Secondly, the lawyer for the defendant has filed an application to dismiss the suit, arguing that Agradaa only insulted Empress Gifty but did not defame her. However, we have also filed an affidavit asserting that Agradaa’s statements constitute defamation,” he stated.

But reacting to this, Agradaa has stormed social media with a counterclaim.

She alleged that her lawyer’s absence was because Empress Gifty’s lawyer failed to serve him with the necessary legal documents in advance.

“That self-acclaimed lawyer was supposed to serve my lawyer seven days before our first court hearing, but he didn’t. When we arrived at court, the judge asked where my lawyer was, and after explaining that she was on her way, I was asked to go call her.

“The judge then questioned Empress Gifty’s lawyer about whether my lawyers had responded to him, and he confirmed that they had. However, when asked if he had responded to us, he admitted that the documents were still with the bailiff. He said he had only handed them over the previous day,” she claimed.

She added, “We all know that serving a lawyer on very short notice isn’t proper. You didn’t serve us, but while granting interviews, you refused to admit that it was your fault.”

Background

Empress Gifty and Agradaa have been embroiled in a heated social media feud in recent times, during which the latter made derogatory remarks about the former and even involved her husband.

In response, Empress Gifty filed a GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit against Agradaa, a case that has since remained a hot topic online.
