The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has emphatically stated that he has “big shares” in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and for that reason; he is always concerned about internal elections of the party.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, stated on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com that he invested heavily in last Saturday’s NDC election and is happy with the way things turned out because “my candidates won”.
“It has become the responsibility of some of us to ensure the opposition elects the right candidates”, Chairman Wontumi underscored.
To win the 2024 elections, Chairman Wontumi hinted that he had to influence the process to force the NDC settle on the candidates they have elected.
“I am very happy with the current NDC executives. I am content with it”, Chairman Wontumi said.
The opposition NDC after months of internal party processes, held its Regional Executives elections over the weekend.
With the exception of the Bono East, Ahafo and Eastern Regions where the polls were put on hold by the Functional Executive Committee of the party over some yet-to-be-resolved issues, the exercise was organized in the remaining 13 regions during the three-day event which began on Friday, November 11 through to Sunday, November 13, 2022.
