The Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic party, Chairman Wontumi has opened up on how he accrued his wealth.
Speaking on the maiden edition of Movement TV’s political talk show, he recounted how his mother’s death, spurred him on to become the man he is today.
He narrated that after his mother died whilst he was a student at Prempeh College, but that didn’t deter him from becoming the global icon he is today.
Chairman Wontumi continued that he journeyed to London and did menial jobs for survival under the pseudo name Theophilus Osei Ansah.
“I cleaned toilet and washrooms for survival”, he said.
As a determined young man, he returned to Ghana and through hard work started his security and mining business.
“I became a millionaire in 2005, the time NPP was not in power. The party came into power in 2016. So I don’t get the basis of their argument. I was one of the financiers during the 2016 campaign. I supported the party out of my own coffers without expecting anything in return” he said.
